Creation of the BoStad Group and exit in the largest transaction in the Danish property market in 2021
At exit to AP Pension, BoStad had completed an exceptional growth journey accomplished via implementation of strategic change management and innovation initiatives with record speed over the last 2,5 years, including re-branding and repositioning of the company, refinancing, corporate re-organisation, in-sourcing of facility management setup, implementation of IT and PropTech tools, and aligning its portfolio around Danish growth cities through the divestiture of 52 non-core assets, renovation of 48 assets and several acquisitions.
Oh, and delisting from Nasdaq after a voluntary take over and squeeze out. -
Senior housing and private care home asset origination and buy-side advisor for Danish pension fund Sampension
We originated and acted as acquisition advisor to Sampension regarding a 47,370m2 seed portfolio of 3 properties and a collaboration agreement with Danish developer SPD regarding multiple pipeline projects.
Our business plan proposal entailed building a scalable platform by securing acquisition of new built DGNB Gold certified senior housing and care home properties and implanting effective procedures supported by selected IT and PropTech tools. -
Divestment of logistics property following CapEx works and negotitiation of new lease terms
A logistics property located on Aarhus Harbour, which was constructed in 2001 and consists of 2,960 sq m office, 14,849 sq m warehouse and 5,343 sq m cross-dock, was exited in September 2021 to an international investor following certain CapEx works and negotiation of new lease terms.
The Property is situated on a plot of 40,353 sq m in an attractive logistics area, which is owned by the Port of Aarhus. -
Origination, acquisition and financing of more than 54,500 m2 of new built residential properties in Danish growth cities
Acquisistion via BoStad of five projects with a total of 553 units, which resulted in the second largest residential real estate transaction in Denmark in 2019. The selling price for the four residential projects was approx. DKK 1.1 bn.
Our strategy was to turn BoStad into a growth platform and significantly increase the size of BoStad’s residential portfolio with quality real estat.
The assets from Birch Ejendomme matched this strategy perfectly and were elements in making BoStad a leading residential company in Denmark.

Arranging and managing an extensive CapEx and maintenance program comprising of 48 properties, which was completed in less than 2 Years
We implemented a mission for BoStad to create a good framework for life with respect of qualuty of life for human beings, the environment and culture. A part of this mission entailed making buildings well-functioning homes for modern people and businesses.
In line herewith we renovated about 48 properties in Danish growth cities such as Næstved, Ringsted, Sorø, Holbæk and Horsens, which all suffered decade long maintenance backlogs. We arranged and managed the renovation program via BoStad and completed it in less than 2 years. -
Developing and implementing an ESG strategy in a property company
Before exiting BoStad, we wanted to take BoStad’s social responsibility to the next level and over the coming years strengthen BoStad’s efforts.
ESG-Principles 2021-2024: In our plan, “BoStad in Denmark”, principles will set the framework for how we will work to promote social responsibility, a healthier climate and environment, stronger local communities, and good corporate governance.
ESG Strategy 2021-2024: On the basis of the above-mentioned plan, we will develop an overall strategy and action plan that defines the specific goals for our social responsibility. And furthermore, how we will achieve them.
ESG Data 2024: As a third step, we are developing a platform for data and documentation.
